Job Details:
Be a part of the A&M Infrastructure team that deals with Database Administration
This position require to work in shifts and on-call
Responsible for supporting multiple databases, overseeing the highest quality of the databases, and supporting several development groups:
Support production, test and development databases
Day to day DBA tasks such as:
Installation and upgrade
o Install, configure and upgrade Oracle software and database
Backup and Recovery
o Design, implement and maintain backup and recovery strategiesprocedures using exportimport and RMAN
Design
o Design logical and physical database
o Create and maintain tablespaces (datafiles and rawdevices)
o Manage temporary segments
o Manage redo logs
o Create and maintain user accountsroles and security
o Design, implement and maintain referential integrity
o Be able to setup and maintain standby and CDC
Tools
o Review tools and utilities (Toad, Spotlight, Veritas, Grid control)
o Resolve RDBMS and tools software problems
Required SkillsDomain Knowledge
Minimum of three years of Oracle DBA experience
Experience in defining and implementing database tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability strategies
Extensive knowledge in database administration, configuring and tuning
Oracle databases in a UNIX environment
Ability to write UNIX scripts for DBA task automation
Should have working experience in standby, RAC and RMAN
Software:SQL,SQL Plus,Unix,Shell Scripting (ksh)
Preferred Skills Domain Knowledge:
Work experience with DW as DBA prefered
Experience in supporting SQL Server2000,2005,2008 as DBA
