NREGA came into force on February 2006. the Act aims at enhancing livelihood security of households in rural areas of the country by providing at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult member volunteer to do unskilled manual work. Under the Gol UNDP provides support to the Ministry of Rural Development for NREGA implementation. Project support includes professional and technical expertise, capacity building initiatives, issues of convergence, agriculture, forestry, climate change, gendr, MIS and ICT Support, communication and monitoring and evaluation.
