Job Details:

Will be participating in engagements focusing on database installation, maintenance, security, high
availability and performance tuning. They will work closely with Database Architects to implement
the overall database design.
Responsibilities
Perform the installation and configuration of the Relational Database Management System
Keep the Logical and Physical data models synchronized
Generate the Physical database design for the data model
Monitor Database Performance
Database tuning
SQL tuning in combination with end-user query tool tuning
Resource control in the DBMS
Database reorganization
Implements database security which determines access to the databases
Responsible for distributing data and deploy distributed databases (i.e. could be warehouses, data
marts, etc)
Manage the DBMS vendor and determine the best use of the product
Install, monitor, maintain and test the database for quality and reliability during the development
phase and implementation to production phase
Perform database backup, recovery enforce data integrity where necessary
Perform and Monitor Performance Benchmarks for new software and hardware
Be involved with Capacity Planning with the management staff
Gather application and business requirements for data storage systems
Deal with performance, usability and productivity issues
Define the content hierarchy and properties of a system
