"Position(1): Lead/Manager Sybase/Oracle DBA
Skills:
8-11 years of Sybase/Oracle ASE and Replication DBA experience.
Ability to perform DBA activities that span multiple phases of database application life cycle including physical design, instance tuning, schema management, space management, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data replication, database refresh, and SQL programming and
tuning
Experience in Shell Scripting.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong presentation, analytical, diagnostic and creative problem solving skills, unafraid to take calculated risks.
Self-motivated with strong team spirit
Working Hours: Staff will be required to work 4 days a week for an 11 hour day including 1 hour lunch break. Staff will be required to work shifts during the 24 x 7 day including public holidays which will be compensated with days in lieu.
Specific Responsibilities: Reporting to the L1 Technical Support Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:Hands-on technical support including: Managing all technical SA staff reporting to the Technical Manager. Ensuring Sybase/Oracle support coverage available to
meet internal client needs. Tracking and progressing proactive maintenance activities. Producing regular service delivery metrics. Relationship management with key internal clients. Providing Sybase / Oracle server administration."
